Alexandra's Election Poem
2-Nov-04
How it hurts just to think
Were all ruled by a shrink
How he’s just a decrease
He should flunk on this race
You see smiles you see pain
You see sun you see rain
You see earth how it’s shaped
You see Osama on tapes
You see flags you see bombs
You children with no moms
You see crime you see hurt
All here and caused by this jerk
You see numbers going higher and higher
Money is his only and one desire
Until you’re thrown in the fire
And it burns
And it stings
It add up to these things
When you fall on the ground
And you can’t just get up
When you see all these kids living big and rough
When you see the division of the blacks and the whites
When you feel the need to fight
In the dark when the moons shining bright
You see blood you see tears
You see anger and fear
You see faces being hit
You feel no need to quit
When you think you feet hurt from walking around
On this hard cold ground were these kids have to sleep at
While we use our own key to open the door
And we sleep on the bed instead of the floor
With the food all lined together
These kids will eat rice, beans whatever
And we pick and we choose
What we like
What we eat
But we still can’t decide on what man
To defeat!
