Haydennet.com – Joseph Andrew Hayden, Juris Doctor

This has been my personal site since 1997. I'm a proud, geeky, opinionated, educated, activist, gay bear parent with polyglot aspirations and diva appreciation, living back in the San Francisco area since 2007 after happily living many years in New York City. As a military brat I was raised in Italy, Spain, NYC and various parts of my home state of California.

Why heterosexuals should be allowed to marry…

Now both single after 8 divorces each, Larry King & Dame Elizabeth Taylor getting married would yield a theoretical 17th wedding ceremony between them.

Ann Coulter really needs attention…

Something tells me she’s been a rabble-rouser since preschool.  I’m not even going to dignify her by restating her obvious attempts to garner attention here, but suffice to say that she is playing the victim game.  This woman seriously needs to get laid, and according to her strict moral values she must, of course, be a virgin, because she has never been married.

Palin doesn’t bury herself fast enough….(so I’ll help her out a bit)

Alaska must be such a small state! Sarah sees Russia from her backyard AND apparently also Canada, where she now admits using their “inferior” medical system regularly.  What a socialist traitor, right?

Marie Osmond’s son

So  Marie Osmond’s son who recently killed himself similarly to my cousin (jumping from balcony) was gay and Mormon? I have always liked Marie, but bigoted communities yield high suicide rates.  Roseanne Barr made a controversial blog about the subject, but I’m afraid I have to agree with her.

Liz Cheney announced she is against DADT *after* she emcee’s the conservative conference!

I’m sure the check was deposited before she released the statement today.

It’s no surprise that she would support her lesbian sister and concur with her father, but somehow this hypocrite whose family still profits off of the wars in the Middle East, still holds herself out as some kind of new age Repub.

“Retard” Brouhaha is not what it seems…

Doubt the Palin clan knew actress portraying mentally retarded character on Family Guy has Downs Syndrome before they started lambasting it.  Before the Palins had a stage, the “Petarded” episode, where the main character was found to have a very low IQ, didn’t get much flack.  Apparently SOME of the letter that the actress wrote to the New York Times was published, but not the part that accused Sarah of carrying her son around “like a loaf of bread” for sympathy votes!

Now that DC has gay marriage…

So kathlicks in DC would rather let orphans languish and remain homeless than give them to a potential gay couple b ending it’s foster care program in that city?  Klassik!  And on Ash Wednesday they decide to announce this, no less.  I wonder how many of those kids are going to grow up still respecting the kathlik church after this?

HBO Documentaries on Chinese Earthquake and Family Diversity

Both of them made me cry for different reasons.  I was very glad to see poor, rural Chinese citizens distraught over losing their children speak up about the shoddy construction (citing specific examples of there being no mortar between the bricks and small wires for large walls), including cursing at the Party leaders who were trying to stop a demonstration.  Some things don’t need translation, but what made this even more painful to watch is the one child policy that China has, which means that the likelihood that many of these parents who lost kids in the schools that crumbled while other buildings remained upright are probably unable to have any other kids either because of forced sterilization or because they are beyond child-bearing years.

I had seen Rosie O’Donnell interviewed about her family diversity documentary, which I thought as pretty well done.  Rosie is never shy about showing herself raw, and this is sort of what she looked like when I met her in person.  When I was on her show, though, I did not meet her.

How can we ever say anything bad about Bill Gates?

Yes, it’s a tax write-off, but TEN BILLION dollars for children’s vaccines to save untold millions of lives?  How many rich people even think of such benevolence?  By comparison the United States committed 100 MILLION to Haiti relief, even though I realize it might become far more as a result of the military efforts and that many of the expenses will benefit the American economy as companies from the United States will be providing many of the supplies.

I disdain Democratic hypocrisy also!

John Edwards’ former assistant Andrew Young and his family who feigned Andrew’s fatherhood of Rielle Hunter’s baby should be highly compensated for their sacrifices with their book proceeds and otherwise!  I would think someone capable of such loyalty would be highly employable if he should ever have to worry about his marketability.
