My Early
Childhood (in Europe)
 As a young child I lived in Sardegna, Italy, where my
brother was born, Catalonia, Spain and Calabria,
Italy, where my mother is from. I enjoyed being a military brat. I liked living in different places, but I missed not having friends my whole
life. Somehow, though, I've managed to keep a few. I also wish I had appreciated the depth
of the travel that I did when I was a kid and had mastered languages better.
Instead, I have been pretty self-conscious about my speaking other languages until I
started studying French, Spanish and (hopefully) mastering fluency in Italian as an adult.
