Haydennet.com – Joseph Andrew Hayden, Juris Doctor

This has been my personal site since 1997. I'm a proud, geeky, opinionated, educated, activist, gay bear parent with polyglot aspirations and diva appreciation, living back in the San Francisco area since 2007 after happily living many years in New York City. As a military brat I was raised in Italy, Spain, NYC and various parts of my home state of California.

Music

I have many of the stereotypical interests of a gay male, but I do not believe for one second that “all gay men” love divas the way I do.  I’m a die-hard Streisand fan since I was 14, noticing how much my father loved her, but my interest in playing and listening to music has expanded.

Based on talent, stage-presence, vocal range, attempt to please the audience and artistic integrity, I rate all the musicians I list on a scale of 1-10, 10 being reached her full potential as an artist.  On each of their sites I explain what I think of them.  There is something I find interesting about all of these artists.

The diva section of my web site has been a popular section.  It started to get “heavy” with graphics so I decided to split it up into numerous pages, instead of just having a page for Barbra.  Please keep your comments coming and let me know of any good URL’s to which I can link for each of the artists.

I decided that what makes a web page special is one’s own original content.  Accordingly, with each we page that I make (i.e., for Barbra and Deniece), I will be adding THE WAY SHE MAKES ME FEEL and what career highlights I have enjoyed.  I say “she” because this is a divas page (and yes, I know I included RuPaul, but that’s a different story) and no man, no matter how talented, can seem to evoke the same emotions as a woman does with her voice, although some have come close.  Eventually I would like to build artist appreciation sites to various male artists who have touched me.
