Nancy Wilson
Ebb Tide is one of my favorite songs, but this lady has a bunch of amazing recordings. I don't know why she isn't more well known. I know from BET that she has also done a lot for the community. In some ways (perhaps activist) she reminds me of Eartha Kitt, although their singing styles are quite different. Here's a very sweet Regina Belle paying homage to Nancy at an Essence Awards with her similar rendition of "If I Could":
