Religion - Gawd, Geesus, Buyble, etc.
"I belong to the Joseph A. Hayden religion. .... No, you can't join."

"I believe in the freedom of religion and irreligion."

"Religicrans should realize that gawd don't make junk."

"When I heard that gawd had bipolar disorder, I realized he must also be suffering from a Christ Complex!"

More information about an Agnostic Listserv I subscribe to.

"The Bible contains six admonishments of homosexuals and 362 admonishments of heterosexuals.  That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals.  It's just that they need more supervision." - Lynn Lavner

"God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." Oh yeah?  Well gawd also made Jonathon
and David according to the buyble:

I Samuel 18: 1-5: And it came to pass, when he had made an end of
speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathon was knit with the soul
of David, and Jonathon loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him
that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house.
Then Jonathon and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his
own soul. And Jonathon stripped himself of the robe that was upon him
and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his
bow, and to his girdle. And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him...

Religion is very personal to me, as I believe it should be with everyone. I was born and raised Catholic, although mercifully, my mother knew better than to subject me to any kind of dogma.

My father who was Protestant by default, did not have any significant religion in his life and was very proud of his skepticism with everything. Unfortunately, I have his cynicism in me now, but I have a tolerance for open-minded non-dogmatic theologians (is there such a thing?). I plan on teaching my daughter everything there is about the world's major religions, and some of the interesting aspects of other religions if, for no other reason, then to understand their historical impact on human nature.

Religion, after all, has heretofore been the predominant reason that human beings go to war with one another. As Einstein theorized, there is a relativity in the universe which reduces everything to time, matter and speed. Think about that for a while, and you should see why it is not in keeping with modern intellectual thought that we are killing each other for our faiths.
