Chatting on Yahoo This page is a supplement to my Chat page. Why do I prefer Yahoo over all other chat clients? 1. Yahoo will SAVE your offline chat messages, so if someone gets cut off, you don't get an annoying BOUNCE message. It really helps for the continuity of conversations, even if you aren't always online like me. 2. With the program that I use -- www.trillian.cc -- there is an unlimited number of buddies as I can create as many concurrently logged in aliases as I need. 3. Yahoo has a long-established video and audio feature, although mine is not always reliable. 4. Unlike AOL and MSN, Yahoo is good about keeping ID's retained to the handle I want to use. Many times I add people to my AOL list and your ID's do not show up, even if you are not in stealth mode. MSN, in their monopolistic ways, curtails how many buddies you can have at one time. 5. It's free, like most chat clients. 6. Even if you have AOL, MSN, ICQ or whatever, you can install the Yahoo messenger from http://messenger.yahoo.com or what I recommend for all of your chat needs, the free version of www.trillian.cc. |
