Brought the dogs to my friend Peter Herman’s amazing backyard. Got some great hot tub in while the dogs explored a novel place for them. Had great music and snacks and great company practicing my Spanish and teaching him a bit of Italian. I’m so lucky to have him as a friend through these tough times especially. I’ll certainly appreciate my hot tub when I get home to Wellfleet Drive again.
I’m very pleased with how some of my selfies turned out, and also glad I didn’t drop my phone in the water!
Brought some of my wind spinners over to the rental so it feels a little bit more like home while I wait for the house to be renovated. They were being surrounded by bamboo and weeds that I’m unable to fully tend to for now, so I might as well enjoy them in the interim.
This is what the Wellfleet backyard roughly looks like these days:
The one that came with the rental was depressing and will now be used for supplemental storage in the garage, but I really missed a real fridge with a water dispenser, so it was very stress relieving to have this one installed, even if it is not ultimately the one that goes into my renovated kitchen back home.
Feeling strong after moving a piano across town with one hired handyman on Taskrabbit. It’s nice to have a piano to practice on, even though I mostly play by ear. At first I wasn’t going to take the sheet music that came with it, but I’m so glad I did because one of them was Barbra Streisand!
On a lighter note, this sweater is my design/creation. As an Ab-Fab fan, I’ve always wanted to create a shirt that said this, as my derivative work from one of my favorite episodes. I was also inspired by the very large guy who had a shirt that said, “I survived anorexia.” While my very decorated home does not currently exist, I will once again someday have a home that was complimented at one point as looking like “a thrift store that threw up.” 🙂
Hugh’s dogs and Snoopy enjoyed the hill in the backyard now that it’s reinforced and unbreachable. I felt very loved when over a dozen folks volunteered to help me move furniture in and set up the rental house while my home is being renovated a few block away. These people took time out of their day even though it was a rainy weekday morning.
