Shelter Volunteers Visit Fosters

Super volunteers Mei and Adrienne came to visit some of our foster dogs who are going to Muttville next week. Iris, Miller and Lilibet will all be going to San Francisco and will find new homes within a week or so based on their incredible adoption rates.

Foster Iris Joins Us Temporarily

I know, I know. Five fosters from HSNB.org in addition to our two is a LOT, but I promise it’s only for a few days. Three of them are already approved for transfer to Muttville on Tuesday. Iris joined us yesterday so she gets a break from the shelter and she’s getting along very well with the other six dogs in the house for a long weekend.

Bugsy got Adopted!

His name became Hammock when he went to Muttville. A friend of a friend adopted him. I guess he goes by Hemi now. I know Sara Wright, who is also a neighbor who commented below. I guess I’m the “mom” who took good care of him while fostering. 🙂

Calvin goes to Cuddle Club Solo

Linda took our foster dog Calvin to HSNB’s Cuddle Club last week and he was wonderful, although a little surprised to be separated from his littermate Hobbes for even an hour or so. I’m glad he was able to bring some joy. Calvin and Hobbes are still available for adoption and are a wonderful bonded pair for anyone interested through HSNB.org.

Downtown Benicia Lunch

Another lunch with my good friend Ron Baity, but I forgot to take a picture of us together! These were taken outside of Sailor Jack’s in Benicia. It was my first time there. I was disappointed that my first choice of vegetarian platters (the portobello sandwich) was unavailable that day, but everything else I had was delicious.

Two More Senior Fosters to Muttville

Fosters Lilibet and Miller will be going to Muttville later this month, but I’m sure glad we got to spend some time with them and gave them a lot of outdoor time when we could since they weren’t getting out as much as possible at the shelter given time constraints and such a need for so many animals to be adopted. I love seeing Miller look and navigate like a real dog without all that matting!

Lilibet can be clumsy and assertive, but she also has a tender side. She is cuddling with both Calvin and Hobbes at different times here and there’s a precious picture of Calvin resting his head on her. Meanwhile, Miller is enjoying his new matt-free body by stretching himself out on the bed and couch.
