We took in two more fosters, one of which is a senior we need to groom (Shea already gave him a bath), and then he’ll be a great candidate for Muttville. Therefore, he’s likely to be here only a few weeks if someone wants to adopt him from HSNB. Cookie is the small cream terrier mix who reminds me of recent fosters Marshall and Lana. Jackson is a salt and pepper schnauzer that reminds me of my first dog growing up, named Sugar. Red foster Perry makes a cameo in these photos, too.

Solano Rowing Club End of Season Party
Solano Rowing Club singing sea shanties (say that five times) at last night’s post-season gathering. AJ, Eric, Maria, Karen, Alison, and others were missed! Jim did a great job of getting the long-time organist of the famous Castro Theatre with his talented singer husband to lead us in a bunch of songs. What a nice surprise!
Shea made a butternut squash, leek, and rosemary dish.
American Cancer Society Sacramento Information & Education Days 2025
First pictures from this year’s tobacco control meeting with legislators in Sacramento. The American Heart Association sponsors Information & Education Days in late May every year to help fight the tobacco industry. This is my second year attending as a volunteer with many public health advocates.
More pictures from my trips to Sacramento for the American Heart Association’s I&E Days with our legislators.
My Fingee Hoits
Had to go to the Emergency Room for a splinter from hell. I think I got it from the dock when we were returning from a row, and I grabbed it. It wasn’t getting better, and I was unable to row, but it turned out I needed antibiotics, and they almost admitted me! I promised I’d adhere to the medications, even though I hate taking antibiotics because of the side effects. In any event, it got better. I admit I stopped taking the antibiotics a few days before it was over. I apparently took enough, though. Back to rowing!
