Vallejo Pride Proclamation 2024

This evening I made it back from Sacramento in time to participate once again in the Pride Proclamation at Vallejo City Council Meeting. It was a nice crowd and I was very pleased to be among the wonderful community that awaited me when I moved here almost four years ago.

Cinco de Mayo and May the Fourth Be With You Parties

Went to two Cinco de Mayo parties yesterday only a few blocks from each other. Here are some pictures from one of them. I was too much of a chatty Cathy to take them at one party.

Vallejo Gay Network March Potluck

Monty and Frankie hosted since I was not able to this March due to the fire. They have an amazing house with a super-comfortable couch and it was Saint Patrick’s Day themed.

July 2024 Update: Shea is in the video and a few of the pictures! 🙂

Other people took pictures, and look who is rubbing elbows and beards in these pictures! I think these are literally the first pictures taken of Shea and me together:

Other pictures taken by others that day:

January 2024 Vallejo Gay Network Potluck

It was very difficult to imagine attending this, but I was implored to do so. The community was wonderful to me and it was a good chance to see a lot of friends only three days after the worst day of my life. My ex had flown back for a few days to help me out and to ensure that I was not left alone in the early days, so it was somewhat awkward to explain he had moved away nine days before the fire.

Tabling at the Third Annual Bearrison Street Fair

Shando and I volunteered all day at the Bearrison Street Fair in San Francisco for LGBTQ Minus Tobacco. It was wonderful to see so many of our friends and let them know about my activism of this kind throughout the Bay Area, particularly in Vallejo. Plenty of Vallejoans were present as well!

VGN Potluck

From these pictures it looks like I was the only one at Lou’s house that day. It was still a bit brisk so people stayed inside. However, I wanted to make sure I captured what I saw. I loved Lou’s backyard and historical home, but I was only able to stop by for a little while before heading downtown to help setup for the big gala for the shelter the same evening.
