Kayaking with Giraffes, Swans and Dogs….oh my
This has some of the best footage of the giraffes I’ve taken to date. The two giraffe pictures below are from other kayakers.

Halloween Party 2023
Halloween party where I went as a “Queen Fairy” (see tiara) and Shando went as a “Save Brittany” fan with the pet pig named Chicharrón. That’s some pig!
This was another great Halloween potluck with Vallejo Gay Network thanks to the Bregenzers.
Mark went as the corpse of Diane Feinstein. Too soon!
Giraffeless Kayaking
More kayaking with the dogs, although it was the first time the giraffes were not in view. For those who are interested in kayaking at Dan Foley Park’s Lake Chabot here in Vallejo (there is another Lake Chabot in Castro Valley, where I used to live), the Six Flags giraffes are almost always eating when we kayak past them. Cappy and Polar were probably bored again, but they are now used to being on the kayak with me and getting water dripped on them while we enjoy the fresh air and vistas from the water.
Benicia Dog Adoption Event
Next to the Mare Island Tap Room (very dog friendly), which is in Benicia, we were invited by Remax Realtors to host an adoption event by the organizers of the Benicia Dog Festival. We brought four adoptable dogs from the Humane Society of the North Bay, two of which were transported by Shando and me.

Rain after Timber
It’s very strange to have rain so early in the autumn, but it was pretty intense a few hours after our sweet Timber died. I needed to be near my dogs after crying over our most senior canine leaving us, so I took the time to groom a few of them in this special part of our home. It was thrilling to enjoy the first really heavy rain since we got the back deck cover.
