This is a compilation video of Shea’s adventures with foster Werner at the 707 Week event last Monday evening on Mare Island. I was on a couple of Zoom meetings, but I’m glad it was an opportunity to show off Werner, who can be a brat, but who is also very lovable and young and healthy and will be a great fit for somebody, especially if they understand cranky doxies. I think his personality is actually improving and he’s somewhat rehabilitated since leaving the shelter, though and getting neutered while with us. He’s got a huge personality and wants to dominate our laps, but there are worse problems he could have.

Shea’s Frying Egg Demo on a Fancy New Pan
Shea keeps bragging about part of the haul from the Glen Cove Garage sale, where he scored this frying pan for $5. He claims it’s worth $150, which is cool. I’d never know that myself. It’s induction stove-compatible. He watches so many cooking videos on YouTube, but there is a cute, funny, unexpected ending to this one he tried to make. Not sure if it’s going to go viral, but it’s endearing that he records things in my fancy new kitchen. He loves to cook and really knows what he’s doing with this stuff. Now if only he could monetize it.
Shea Speaks At Vallejo Surveillance Board Meeting
I’m very proud that Shea spoke at the Vallejo Surveillance Board last night. I was unable to attend due to a conflict, but I’ve been following this through the ACLU chapter that I’ve been working with on numerous issues. The entire meeting is, of course, available on the City of Vallejo’s home page.

Shea Saves the Day
Kudos to my amazing partner who SAVED THE DAY at the Humane Society of the North Bay. I dragged him there to investigate a power outage. Flicking the circuit breakers was not yielding a fix in our reception building, but as soon as we arrived, Shea figured out that there were GFCIs that the staff were unaware of, which he promptly reset. The phones, computers, and power were partially down in that building until he resolved it. It’s nice having someone who can be more of a geek than I am in situations like this. He possesses the patience, talent, and curiosity to tackle a wide range of life challenges, making it a real treat to see how much he can accomplish through DIY projects.

Dramatic Root Bear Float 2025
We started off floating down the Russian River yesterday with the annual Root Bear Float in two inner tubes that I’ve had for a couple of years. However, shortly into it, Shea’s burst, and like clockwork, mine busted about 15 minutes later. Fortunately, we could depend on the kindness of strangers and tagged a ride on the “Proud Mary” float with Aaron, Billy, Javi, and Christopher, so the day was saved, as we had many more hours left in the ride.
