Twinsies pictures of Snoopy and foster Dolly (fka Penny). This was the day Shea finally got to share his major keto cheesecake concoction. It was well-received and it was a nice way to wind down Pride Day after a sojourn into the city. The dogs, including our two new fosters, really enjoy going to the pool and being around us while we’re relaxing in the warm pool water. It’s nice to have such long days with lots of hours of light to linger into the evenings.

San Francisco Pride 2025
We made it to San Francisco Pride yesterday. This year we were smarter. We took BART most of the way to shorten the trip and make it as comfortable as possible with as few modes of transportation as we could take. I love the rainbow “Dog Dad” baseball cap I bought there. I can imagine places where I will wear it to start a conversation.
Unfortunately not everyone got the memo that street fairs are smokefree, so we didn’t stay long in front of city hall. I wasn’t in the mood to be confrontational during such a festive event, but I did take note of how entitled these people are to take away the fresh air of other people. While the enemy is the industry, some people still lack common courtesy.
It was wonderful to run into our sweet friend Neeraj, who we can always count on being anywhere there is two-stepping! Since it had been a year since Shea and I last two-stepped ourselves, I knew I would be useless on the floor this time. We should practice more.
Vallejo Gay Pride Picnic with the Hayden Dogs and Foster Dogs
I love it when my communities/worlds collide. Mei organized this major dog walk on Mare Island which crossed paths with a major picnic that the Vallejo Gay Network has every year. I brought our two fosters who got a lot of serious attention with their “Adopt Me” vests. It was a little stressful with the four dogs, but we had a wonderful time.
More pictures we took at the picnic:

Castro Valley Pride 2024
My daughter’s high school (she graduated years ago) hosts an annual Castro Valley Pride yearly. This year did not disappoint with great drag shows, part of the original AIDS quilt, and many vendors. We tried out this dog cart for the first time. At this event years ago, I first saw a dog cart of this nature, which inspired my purchase of the first one.
San Francisco Pride 2024
Pride Day in San Francisco was a LOT of walking and fun. We ran into tons of folks we knew on the ferry ride back to Vallejo, but we were so tired and barely got on the boat ourselves that we didn’t take pictures with any of them. At least we got a shot of Sanjay and Neeraj when we stopped by Sundance and joined in for a couple of line-dancing songs. I also got to stop by the booth for LGBTQ Minus Tobacco for the first time at SF Pride, which was great, but I neglected to take a photo with them too, damn it.
Happy 44th Shea
Shea made wonderful omelets to start the day. We ended up having Thai food for dinner in downtown Vallejo, and then made our way to San Francisco. We stopped by Greg and Steve’s pied-à-terre in the Castro, then walked over to the Pilsner for a drink, where we met a guy who was also celebrating his birthday. He even bought us a round and had some cake to share with us! Afterward, Shea and I went to Bearracuda, which I had not been to in many years. This is in addition to my other posting here where Greg, Steve, Shea, and I took pictures under the rainbow laser lights.
Happy Pride 2024
Oakland Pride
We only stopped by for a little while, but it was nice to see a bunch of people we hadn’t seen in a while. The Yorkie shown is NOT ours, but rather one of a friend of ours who I’ve known for years. I was glad to get the picture with the Hillary placard. I have one with Obama from eight years ago! The corndog prop I’m holding is known as a “porndog,” in case you’re wondering. I’m vegetarian, but it was a prop that my friend John had many of his friends hold. I don’t know if he even ate it afterwards!
