Spring came very late this year in New York. There were hardly any blooms and the trees were still bare. There were even brisk days to come during the days we were there in late April. Still, it was wonderful to be near my old stomping grounds.

After knowing my mom’s cousin Ferruccio, I think for the first time I got to meet some of his sisters and their husbands. After having some issues with communication, we were heading to the local supermarket near the Coliseum and actually heard someone call out my name! They thought I would be heavier because they probably saw pictures of me from years ago, but it was indeed me, so we had a lovely evening catching up, talking about Mom who died last year, etc.
